The first International City COP hosted by Kaohsiung City was opened on March 22. Kaohsiung Mayor said that through various policies, Kaohsiung has reduced carbon emissions by 21% compared with the base year of 2005 and will continue to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2030 and working towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
Subsequent smart city exhibitions and forums also invited representatives from various countries to share experiences and discuss important urban sustainability themes.
