Dear Every Partner of OSE,

We are sad to announce that the founder of our company, Dr. Eugene C. Y. Duh passed away yesterday.

Dr. Duh returned from the United Staes after his Ph.D. and established OSE in year 1971, the first fully local investing company that offers assembly and testing services, pioneer of the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry. Dr. Duh was once the first general manager of UMC and founded SiS Technology afterwards. He had participated in the entire progress of Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry and contributed greatly to our country and society.

There was a period of hardship of OSE during the downturn of semiconductor industry. Dr. Duh returned as chairman and served concurrently as general manager without hesitation, shouldering all responsibilities, bonding himself and company as a community of shared future. He made all-out efforts and led all employees, striving to become better and did reach a successful operational transformation which unlocked infinite possibilities of OSE afterwards. Dr. Duh has fully achieves personal social responsibilities and become the model among entrepreneurs in Taiwan that everyone admires.

Dr. Duh is fully devoted to charity after his retirement in 2016. His integrity and pragmatic attitude impressed every single employee and have become the core values of OSE.

In memory of our founder, Dr. Eugene C. Y. Duh, we will fly the flag at half-mast for 3 days to express our greatest respect and infinite gratitude to the founder.
