TSOP/TSSOP/SOP/SSOP
SO is a collection of packages that include TSOP、TSSOP、SOP、SSOP and so on. SO packages apply metal lead frame, have similar pin configuration as DIP packages but save space by approximately 30% to 50% and reduce approximately 70% thickness comparing to DIP packages.
TSOP (Thin Small Outline Package) : Package with metal leads extending from two sides of the body, body width is greater than 300mil, package height is less than 1.2 mm.
TSSOP (Thin Shrink Small Outline Package) : Package with metal leads extending from two sides of the body, body width is less than 300mil, package height is less than 1.2 mm.
SOP (Small Outline Package) : With metal lead frame, leads extending from two sides of the body and lead pitch is greater than 1.0mm.
SSOP (Shrink Small Outline Package) : With metal lead frame, leads extending from two sides of the body and lead pitch is less than 1.0mm.
